PINOT NOIR
The Southern Forests is home to two of Australia’s finest cool climate wine growing regions, Manjimup and Pemberton, with the first commercial winery established in 1982. With rich, loam soil, the area has more than 50 vineyards, of which almost half are family-owned wineries, with many offering cellar door tastings and beautiful restaurants serving fresh, local, gourmet food.
The wines shown here all include (or are exclusively) made from pinot noir grapes from the Manjimup or Pemberton wine regions.

BATISTA ESTATES
The palate displays so much deep concentration, yet delivered with the finesse of the variety to perfection. Soft and almost mellow yet within there is power, structure and control, which carries the wine to a very long finish. Those chalky tannins and fine line of acid are features.

CHERUBINO WINES
Laissez Faire means “let it be.” Fruit was handpicked and sorted, and moderate extraction was aimed to ensure that the vineyard characters were fully expressed. Aromas of beetroot and earth with black cherry, red flowers and oak delivered spices.

2022 ON THE FRINGE PINOT NOIR
CHERUBINO WINES
The Pemberton Pinot Noir made from the 777 and 667 clones in 2022 is an elegant and complex wine with a deep ruby colour. The flavours of ripe red and black cherry dominate the palate, with nuances of earthy undertones, leather and a touch of oak.

CHERUBINO WINES
Hand-picked and sorted, the berries were gravity fed to small close fermenters where minimal additions were made. The wine slowly fermented with native yeast where it took 4 weeks to complete primary fermentation.

KOOMAL CREEK
Garnet in colour, with aromas of raspberry and lightly spiced plum, our pinot is made in the vineyard and finessed in the winery. The dry grown berries of clones 114 and 115 balance medium bodied tannins with light acidity, producing a well-rounded, old oak, finish.
